Since 1992, we’ve brought together Pakistani Students across campus

Founded in 1992, PSA is a dually-recognized student group that seeks to bring together all members of the Columbia and Barnard community who share our interest in accurately comprehending and conveying the socio-political milieu of Pakistan whilst indulging in its vibrant culture. The club was founded with hopes of furthering understanding the diversity at our campus - and still strives to realize that vision today.

Students of Pakistani Heritage have been a part of Columbia University since Pakistan's independence. Columbia was the site of one of the first formal Pakistani student associations in the United States and over the past five decades, multiple organizations representing Pakistani students have been a key part of campus life. In 2022, OPS (the Organization of Pakistani Students) changed its name to PSA (Pakistani Students Association) to better fit our peer associations.

Some of our annual events include Soch (our academic symposium), Qawwali Nights, and Welcome Back Dinners! Our biggest event is Hungama, in which we hold a mock shaadi on Low Steps. We hope to see you there!
